TSLC Community Engagement Update

As the year progresses, we are pleased to share an update on the work of Thames Strategy London Central and Thames Strategy East!

We have made steady progress on our landscape character assessments, deepening our understanding of the distinct qualities that define different stretches of the Thames. This work is providing an important evidence base to support future planning and ensure that change along the river is both sensitive and well-informed.

We look forward to building on this progress in the months ahead and we are looking forward to our consultation phase, starting in June. So, watch this space to know how you can get involved!

In recent months, our community engagement programme has continued to develop, bringing together a wide range of local voices to inform and strengthen our work along the Thames. Through workshops, meetings, and ongoing conversations, we have been able to gather valuable insights that are helping to shape a shared vision for the river and its surrounding spaces.

However, it is important for us to keep hearing about your experience with the riverside and any opportunities or challenges you may have identified in engaging with the river (i.e. flooding, safety concerns, lack of accessibility, etc.).

For this, TEP will be hosting a series of webinars, which will be showcasing the Joint Thames Strategy, as well as providing a space to hear about your experiences with the River Thames. Each webinar session will be dedicated to a specific stakeholder, to allow these groups to come together and understand how they can influence the Joint Thames Strategy and what impact the latter may have on them.

TEP is also releasing a JTS specific newsletter called Between the Reaches. This newsletter will not only provide you with the latest updates on the strategies but will also include exciting interviews with the people who most interact with the River Thames, and most of all give you an opportunity to tell us your insights about the Thames.
